Eligibility
No High School Diploma? You May Still Qualify!

Applicants age 16 or older who have completed 10th grade or its equivalent may qualify without a high school diploma or GED. Eligible students still attending high school can enroll, too.
High School Students - Start Early
Still in high school? If you are at least 16 and have successfully completed at least 10 grades (or the
equivalent), you may be eligible to begin your beauty-school journey early. Depending on your program schedule,
attendance, required hours, and exam timing, you may be able to complete training and move toward licensure while finishing high school. Ask Admissions to verify your eligibility.
Ready to Enroll? Here’s What to Bring
Government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport.
Social Security card, when applicable for enrollment and Board records.
Additional proof of age or identity, such as a birth certificate, if requested.
Previous beauty-school transcript, if requesting transfer credit.
Proof of education—whichever applies: a transcript showing completion of 10th grade or higher, equivalent education documentation, a high school diploma, or GED.

Non-U.S. Citizen / Temporary Visa Applicants
DOCUMENT REVIEW REQUIRED
Alabama requires applicants to be legally present in the United States and authorized to work. Ask non-U.S. citizen
applicants to bring their passport and current immigration documents, plus proof of federal work authorization when
required (for example, a Permanent Resident Card, Employment Authorization Document, naturalization document, or
other DHS/USCIS authorization). If a Social Security card states that DHS/INS authorization is required, the Alabama
Board says the applicant must also provide proof of permission to work. A temporary visa alone should not be treated
as proof of work authorization; Admissions should verify documentation before enrollment.

Do not email or upload sensitive identity documents through the public Request Info form. Use a secure enrollment
portal or collect them in person during the enrollment process.
